Halfway There: Reflections on the Owwll 30 Day Hard Challenge

We’re officially halfway through the Owwll 30 Day Hard Challenge, and I can honestly say—it’s been equal parts rewarding, humbling, and hilarious. Some days I feel like I’m conquering the world, and other days I feel like the gallon of water is conquering me.
The workouts, push-ups, and step goals? Manageable. The diet? A work in progress (try living in Chicago and not eating pizza). But the toughest part, surprisingly, has been making that one unique outbound Owwll call before sundown every single day.
The Owwll Connection
If you’re not familiar, Owwll is an app where you can call and connect with people in real time for advice, insights, and inspiration. No voicemails, no scheduling headaches—just live, one-on-one conversations.
And here’s the truth: some days I didn’t feel like making that call. But the challenge kept me accountable, and I did it anyway. And those calls? They’ve turned out to be the highlight of this whole experience.
So far, I’ve called 14 different Owwlls, and because I made myself available on the app, I’ve also received calls I never would have had otherwise.
Some of the most memorable include:
- Dr. Forbes Riley – media powerhouse and endless inspiration.
- Kate Beck – always insightful and encouraging.
- Sabine Kvenberg – a perfect match for my niches! I’ll even be appearing on her podcast.
- Andrew Darlow – who shared photography tips and helped me back up LinkedIn content.
- Darryl Adams – full of perspective and wisdom.
- Barbara Schuler – eye-opening conversations on gold & silver investment opportunities.
Without the challenge, I might have missed these connections entirely.
Lessons From the Mat
My yoga practice taught me an important lesson: modify, don’t quit. I may not be as fast or strong as others, but I know where we’re all going—and I’ll meet you there at the end of the sequence.
That’s exactly how I’ve approached this challenge. I’ve adapted when necessary, pushed myself when I could, and stayed consistent. Even if my step count sometimes looks more like “bathroom break sprints” than marathon training, I’m still moving forward.
Beyond the Challenge
Now, the official 30 Day Hard Challenge may be halfway done—and closed to new participants—but this is actually the third time we’ve run it. So rest assured, it will definitely happen again.
In the meantime, you can still join Owwll and start building connections of your own. And here’s the bonus:

Final Thoughts
Halfway done, but far from finished. The second half of this challenge is where it gets real—and if the first 15 days are any sign, the next 15 will be filled with even more connections, insights, and stories worth sharing.
Here’s to the journey, the conversations, and maybe even fewer bathroom breaks in the weeks ahead.
